I was the last born baby of Cuckfield Hospital in the UK, on the first day of spring in 1989. My life path seems to articulate an impulse for renewal in the face of  the obsolete - an everlasting fold of endings and beginnings.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, exploring the mediums of ceramic sculpture, film photography, painting and writing - in the pursuit of unveiling the space between matter and the impalpable.

I experience life as a journey through which I am constantly at the threshold of my own consciousness - touching the edges of what is definable through our ordinary sense perceptions, which leads me to approach the world as undeniably multidimensional in its nature.

I am a neurodivergent woman, born with a neurotype which shapes the structure of reality as I experience it. The high level of detail and intensity through which I receive the world is both profound and singular: through sensory processing and felt perceptions, the way in which I comprehend relationality and the connectedness of all phenomena, and what seems to be a heightened ability to percieve and attune to fields of subtle information - or what can be named “non ordinary reality”.

In November 2019, during an immersive training in Zen meditative practices lasting several months, I underwent a sudden and thunderously life altering state of expansion of consciousness - which amplified the depth of my perceptual reality, and intensified my experience within the human body.

Clay yields creative pathways through which I am able to anchor the processes occurring within consciousness and physical form. This medium helps bind me to terrestrial life.

I imagine large vessels, which serve to hold my vision of the immensity within the depths of Self… awakening the sensation of touching other worlds.

biography

education &

training

I obtained an OIB (French Baccalaureate with International Option) with Distinction in 2007, with a specialization in Literature and Fine Arts.

In 2011 I graduated from University College London with First Class Honors and a BA in English Language and Literature.

In 2014 I recieved an MD in Communication, Media and Creative Industries from Sciences Po Paris.

From 2012 until the present day, I have been immersed in the study of modalities in integrative psychology, the understanding of human consciousness, and spirituality.

Four years were spent undergoing training and supervision in modalities taught by the Barbara Ann Brennan School of Healing. Two years were spent in deep practice of meditation and mindfulness through engaged Zen Buddhism, as a resident lay practitioner in monastic practice centers in Asia and Europe.

Over the course of the past three years I have received initiations and trainings in Tibetan Buddhist practices, directly transmitted through two Tibetan Ngagpa teachers.

Today, my life is orchestrated around advanced level practices in energetic, somatic and spiritual modalities, which provide structure for my creative work and for a life of attunement to a deep, contemplative and cyclical rhythm. This way of life is one which invites the expression of my own nature as a highly sensitive and intuitive being.

‘Quiescence’ - 2024

I chose the path of apprenticeships and direct training with teachers and masters in the field of ceramics, as this approach to learning and its contextual aspects are more adapted to the specificities related to my neurotype.

I undertook five years of training and apprenticeship in ceramic techniques in Europe (France, Spain and Greece). This includes hand building and wheel throwing in the traditional town of Vallauris in South East France, and learning crystalline glaze techniques with the ceramics master Jose Mariscal Paneque in Catalonia.

Living on the island of Crete in 2022, I was fortunate to learn from a ceramics master of the traditional village of Margarites, Georgios Dalamvelas, and his wife and archaeological researcher Mariniki Dalamvelas, who have retrieved ancient Minoan methods of ceramic craft, and are devoting themselves to their restoration and transmission.

I recently trained with Master Kwak Kyungtae, in Korean Onggi techniques, carrying the aspiration of continuously expanding my realm of possibilities through the application of ancient techniques revisited for modern use.

Artist statement

The structuration of my own perceptions, both on a sensory level and of what I name « subtle fields of information », is shaped by my neurodivergence and extreme sensitivity - as well as by several experiences of expansion of consciousness which arose throughout the course of years of deep meditative practice.

Through visual arts, I am able to experience myself in dialogue with life just beyond the edge of matter. In the creative moment I surrender to the openness and state of receptivity from which I am never truly able to dissociate.

This dimension of intentionality offers, in all of its vulnerability and mystery, the possibility for me to translate into the visual realm what is always omnipresent in the subtle fields of information.

There is a spiritual essence in all things. I aspire to draw it out and reveal it through the spaces created in these vessels. A ceramic vessel can contain a cosmos. These pieces live as points of contemplation, areas of contact with what lives just behind the veil of our ordinary sense perception.

Since the earliest recorded civilisations, vessels have been made with the very earth from which we are born and to which we return.

Ancient uses of ceramics suggest that our species has, for millennia, kept itself in conversation with this great Mystery of the essence of form. The earliest ceramic relics found in all parts of the world bear the traces of this relationship between the material world and the invisible… of humans intuiting the deep intermingling of these worlds.

Contact seems to have been bridged through the elaboration of ceramic vessels: objects imagined for ritual and spiritual purposes. Portals - the access to which seem to have been mostly forgotten, relegated to the margins of history from which interest and understanding have been withdrawn.

My work is a call to place a deep trust in the form, that naturally leads to its own transcendence. I wish to excavate and bring back to life these ancient technologies, through which our species was engaged in a deeper awareness of consciousness - of a permanent, eternal aspect, which infuses all living form.

What if the portal was, in reality, us ?

We are this liminal space between immensity and the world contained in physical form.

It is our consciousness, our intentions, and our actions which inform life -

and we hold the power to choose what we inform it with.

My work invites us to rekindle our relationship with our creational aspect: to capture the energy of our dream and to focus it into matter. A vessel is in and of itself an element of matter filled with emptiness, with pure potentiality. The infusion the empty space of a vessel with intention thereby renders the action manifestational. We open the portals of creation.

Creating these vessels is a coming into relationship of reverence and love with the forms of Life, because each form is its own manifestation of who and what we are in our essence. We are unending creational processes… and Vessels are holding processes for me.

Intentional actions are magical actions. Each vessel proposes an interaction through gestures which awaken our reverence for life : contemplation, ritual, prayer.

They are here to invite us to lean into our capacity to bring harmony into all things… to hold our higher visions, and to be touched once more by the truth of the immensity of what we truly are.

To hold the eternal in the palms of our hands.
